Chance Quay, 35-year-old man from Muskoka Lakes Township, missing since March 2024.
Members of SARDOA and OSARC conducted a search in the vicinity of where he was last seen and continue to cover more ground in hopes of bringing closure to the family.

K9 Sensus HRD Workshop
Three SARDOA members recently travelled to MUTC to attend the K9 Sensus HRD Seminar, completing three full days of intensive Human Remains Detection training. Teams gained valuable large-source exposure while working through challenging urban disaster and urban operations environments, building experience in complex search scenarios and further developing their operational HRD capabilities.

SARDOA Workshop and NSDA Certification
SARDOA hosted our annual Search & Rescue K9 Workshop and NSDA Certification in June, bringing together handlers, instructors, evaluators, and volunteers from across Ontario and beyond. Teams spent the weekend developing skills in Wilderness Live Find, Human Remains Detection, tracking, water work, environmental confidence, and urban search environments, with training designed for everyone from developing dogs to operational teams.
August 2026
Canadian Coast Guard Training
SARDOA recently joined the Canadian Coast Guard Inshore Rescue Station for an exceptional day of training on Lake Erie. Two of our Search & Rescue K9s practiced boarding and disembarking a Hurricane Zodiac, navigating a plank over water, and travelling at speeds up to 43 knots (80 km/h). It was an incredible opportunity to exchange knowledge, expose our dogs to a challenging operational environment, and strengthen relationships between SAR organizations.
